What exactly do they mean and how do they differ with the traditional blinds?
Automated blinds designed are motor-powered blinds that can be opened, closed, or angled at the touch of a button, with a voice command, or through an iPhone application. In contrast to manual blinds where one needs a hand crank or a pull, automated blinds come with a small and silent motor coupled with a convenient remote or an app. This is because you can customize lights, privacy, and energy consumption without getting out of your couch as is the case with hard to reach windows or hectic homes.
Do your future automated blinds fit any window shapes and sizes?
Yes! Our automation kits are available in a complete variety of customization sizes and can be shaped to fit just but a few window frames be it a standard window, bay, or a niche. You are having an unusual width or height, then all you need is to notify us when you are on a design visit and we will match you with a motor kit that fits well. In the case of the more complex installations, our technicians on-site can make a special mounting system to make it all flat and clean.
My automated blinds What do I do to control them do I require a dedicated hub, or can I directly use my phone?
Each of our blinds has Wi-Fi capability and it can be directly connected to a smartphone application (iOS or Android). The application has easy on/off switches and timed schedules, and lighting-sensitive settings that respond to the natural light level. They can also be connected to Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit, in the event you want to use hands-free and you can command Siri to order the motor to close the living-room blinds, and then it does the work.
What do you need in the way of maintenance, how long does the motor last?
Cleaning is minimum, one just has to dust the blind and update the software (free) once every year in order to maintain the motor. The motor itself has an operating capacity of up to 5000 cycles (approximately a decade of daily operation). We also give a 2 year warranty to all motors including defects or early wear. Our service team is also available on call whenever you need to know something about maintenance or have a quick check-up.
What is the price of having automated blinds installed and can it be financed?
The price would also be determined by the size, the type of blind, and whether you are just retrofitting your current shade, or you are installing new ones. In order to provide you with an estimate of the exact amount, we provide a free in-home consultation (or virtual design session). On large-sized projects, we offer special financing, 0 percent APR during the first 12 months when we get an order that exceeds 2000 dollars. In addition, numerous utility companies provide a rebate on smart-home energy-saving devices, so do the research on these incentives as well.
